Senior Antibahs Kosgei was awarded the Men’s Runner of the Week honor in the SEC for the first time this season. In the 4-mile title at the Brooks Twilight Classic in Memphis, Kosgei helped Alabama take second place with a 19:11.13 finish. Antibahs, the Kenyan native, is no stranger to success.
Senior Connor Thompson has seen the cross-country team struggle with its inexperience over the years, but he doesn't expect that to happen this season.
Alabama’s cross country hosted the annual Crimson Classic on Oct. 16 in Tuscaloosa, and the Alabama women’s team ran to a second place finish in the team rankings, finishing with 71 points while the men’s team finished sixth with 182 overall team points. For the women, three runners finished in the top 15.
The Alabama Cross Country team picked up a second place finish courtesy of the women, while running to a fifth place honor in the men’s category in the Cowboy Jamboree on Spet.
