Jon Lovorn honors Newtown with number change

Twelve to 14 to 26. That was the combination that tied the score at one in the 2014 CIAC DIII Hockey State Championship game. For most players and its fans, those numbers would mean little. For the Newtown Nighthawks, their fans and an entire city, those numbers meant the world.

New faces stepping up for Alabama lacrosse

The team loses five seniors coming into the fall, one of which is Jake Griffith, who scored twenty goals last season. That was the second most on the team. Even with the loss of Griffith and several other key seniors, captain Thomas Lengel is very confident in this team’s potential.

Alabama club baseball team looks to continue success

The Alabama club baseball team is a completely student run, university funded organization, that is recognized to compete in the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA). For many members of the team getting the chance to play college baseball had been a lifelong dream, and while this dream didn’t come completely true, they still get the chance to lace up the cleats and don the crimson and white on the diamond against a competitive talent level.

Men's rugby looking to continue recent success

The University of Alabama’s oldest club sports team, men’s rugby, begins another fall season looking to replicate the recent run of victories over the past few seasons.  The coaches and veterans of the club are busy preparing a new wave of freshman players to replace departed seniors who led the runs to a 2016 Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference (SCRC) championship and a 2015 second place finish.   The team has established a winning tradition over the past five years that is unmatched by any other run of success since the club’s founding in 1973.
