For some students, living alone for the first time, without someone constantly dictating how one spends their time, can lead to time management issues. Richard Livingston of the Center of Academic Success is here to help with a time management workshop.

What: A time management workshop entitled “Managing Your Time In College.”

Who: Richard Livingston, assistant director of the Center of Academic Success.

When: Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 4-5 p.m.

Where: 329 Lloyd Hall

“It’s something we’ve done for a number of years. We do a lot of study skills workshops in a semester,” Livingston said. “This is just one in a series of study skills workshops that we do all throughout the semester. Primarily it’s geared toward beginning students who, you know, maybe need to adjust to living on their own and managing their time on a college campus.”

Livingston will cover a wide range of topics, including the importance of time management for beginning students; how to organize your time; how to set a schedule; how to devote time for studying; getting on a regular schedule; (and) how to overcome procrastination.

“In order to get the grades you want [as a freshman], you have to organize your time so that not only can you have a social life but you can also be successful in school,” said Rachel Dahl, a freshman majoring in biology.
