Volleyball comes back to beat Arkansas

Although an ace from redshirt sophomore Krystal Rivers clinched the match for the Alabama volleyball team Sunday, it was a team effort that led the Crimson Tide to a 3-1 win over Arkansas, its seventh in Foster Auditorium this season, advancing the team to 18-5 on the season and 6-3 in the SEC.

Volleyball to face Auburn

It’s no secret the simple mention of Auburn University can stir up feelings of rivalry across the Alabama fan-base far and wide, but don’t expect the Alabama volleyball team to buy into the hype. In a rare mid-week trip, the team will face off against the Auburn Tigers in Auburn, Alabama, Tuesday at 8 p.m., with the match to be aired live on ESPNU. “I don’t try to accentuate that with our players, other than this is another match, this is the next one up, this is who we have to go get,” coach Ed Allen said.

Match motivates team

In celebration of breast cancer awareness month each October, the University of Alabama campus is overcome with a sea of pink, as opposed to its normal tide of crimson. The Alabama volleyball team will partake in the movement with its annual Power of Pink match Sunday, where players will don pink jerseys in celebration.

Tide splits SEC weekend

Returning home after a three-game road stint, the Alabama women’s volleyball team defeated South Carolina in four sets in front of a crowd in Foster Auditorium, advancing the Crimson Tide to a 16-4 overall record with a 4-2 record in conference play.
