Christine Jarman steps up for the Crimson Tide

Christine Jarman feels like she would have ended up at The University of Alabama, even if she was not playing volleyball. The large campus, the love of sports by the University and the fact the school is in the South played a major role in getting Jarman to come play for The Crimson Tide.

Volleyball falls to Ole Miss on the road

After losing in straight sets to Georgia on Friday night, Alabama’s volleyball team got off to a better start on Sunday afternoon against Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss. It won the first set 25-18, however the Rebels won the next three sets to take the match, 21-25, 24-26 and 22-25.

Volleyball picks up two wins on Friday

Alabama volleyball coach Ed Allen said that despite coming away with a 3-0 sweep Friday morning against Southern, he wasn’t all that pleased with how the team played. He said what he saw Friday night during the Crimson Tide’s 3-1 victory over Murray State was more encouraging.

Meghan Neelon making an impact early in her career

Meghan Neelon’s high volleyball IQ is one of the reasons Alabama’s head coach Ed Allen believes she has been successful as a freshman. Neelon has been a big part of the reason Alabama is off to an 8-2 start to the season. The success she has had early on has not surprised Allen though.

Gary key for Alabama volleyball defense

Quincey Gary put together a historic performance at the Jaguar Invitational last weekend, collecting 70 digs and leading the Alabama volleyball team to two victories in three matches. Her performance earned her SEC Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday. The honor is the first for Gary, a junior from Alexandria, Indiana, and she is the first Alabama defender to earn the honor since 2008.

Alabama Volleyball releases 2017 schedule

Winners of 20 matches in three out of its last four seasons, the Alabama volleyball team will look to extend the best stretch in its history in the 2017 season. The team’s schedule was announced on Wednesday, featuring the Crimson Tide hosting 15 matches in the Foster Auditorium. The Crimson Tide will open its in the Mortar Board Premier Tournament, hosted by Purdue, in West Lafayette, Ind.
