ROTC talks wins, losses, prepares for competitions

Combining values of the Capstone Creed and the U.S. Army, members of the University of Alabama Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) are consistently striving for excellence. They have achieved high scores in the classroom, and now they look to do the same at their competitions.  

Student raises money to produce short film

Raising $4,000 in roughly ten days through Kickstarter at the tail end of one's senior year might seem impossible. Danny Ryan, a senior from Long Island, New York, majoring in telecommunication and film, is aiming to achieve the impossible in his latest short film project, "Pride Fighter." Three years ago, Ryan joined Creative Campus, an arts advocacy student organization on campus, and realized he wanted to become a filmmaker.

Juried Art show displays art from 11 counties

Thirty years marks how long Tuscaloosa’s Arts Council has sponsored the West Alabama Juried Arts Show. The show is open to residents of West Alabama, a total of 11 counties, including Tuscaloosa. Artwork will be chosen for the show, and the overall winning piece will be purchased to be added to the gallery's permanent collection.
