Alexis Osorio named to preseason All-SEC team

The right-handed Crimson Tide ace earned her second All-American nod last season. She led Alabama with 23 wins, a 1.21 ERA and 334 strikeouts, averaging 1.65 strikeouts per inning. Osorio’s strikeouts paced the SEC, ranked fifth nationally and came in as the fourth-highest mark in program history. The 1.21 ERA was also the fourth best in program history.

Alabama swept by No. 9 Washington

After a late rally fell short on Friday night, Alabama came back to Rhoads Stadium Saturday afternoon looking to salvage a split of its two-game series against the No. 9 Washington Huskies. Alabama out-hit its opponent but couldn’t get it done, falling 3-0 to the Huskies in a long game, after weather forced a lengthy delay midway through the game.

Alabama defeats Southern Miss 2-0

Coming off two losses on the road to Tennessee, the No. 12 Alabama Crimson Tide was looking to bounce-back at home against Southern Miss before hosting No. 10 Washington for two games this upcoming weekend. Alabama got the win, but didn’t quite get the performance it wanted in a 2-0 win Wednesday night. “We talk about whatever you need to do to get the runner in and [sophomore catcher] Reagan [Dykes] did it; she had the sac fly,” coach Patrick Murphy said.
