Alabama soccer prepares for its third NCAA Tournament appearance

Alabama’s soccer team made history on Monday by becoming the third group to earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament in program history, but the Crimson Tide’s players are not satisfied yet. Although they’ve already rewritten the Alabama record books, they have their sights set on becoming the first Alabama team to advance past the first round, which they can accomplish with a road win against Clemson on Friday.


Alabama puts winning streak on the line vs Ole Miss

Two weeks ago, Alabama’s season outlook was turning bleak. The Crimson Tide had just been dealt its fifth SEC loss of the season by in-state rival Auburn, landing it near the bottom in the conference standings. Since that crushing defeat, Alabama has stormed back from the brink, winning three straight SEC games and solidifying its place in the SEC tournament. 


Alabama holds off Missouri in overtime

Even with the pressure of SEC tournament implications weighing on her shoulders, junior Abbie Boswell was calm and collected as she sunk a penalty kick in the back of the net to secure Alabama a 3-2 victory over Missouri in the 53rd second of overtime on Sunday. With the tightly contested victory, Alabama’s third straight, the Crimson Tide improved to 11-6-1 overall and 3-5-1 in SEC play.


Senior Tide soccer players create lasting legacy

When the curtain finally closes on her Alabama soccer career, senior Celia Jimenez Delgado will not gaze back on her career in wistful reflection. Instead, Delgado will look back on the legacy left by her and other members of the senior class with pride. Not only have Alabama’s seniors enjoyed illustrious individual careers on the pitch, they have also helped transform the culture surrounding Alabama’s soccer program by redefining what it means to compete in the field and in the classroom.


Alabama wins its first SEC game of the year

By the time the ball hit the back of the net, Alabama’s bench was cleared. All of the players had already taken flight, sprinting towards the opposing team’s goal with shouts of jubilation. At the goal they formed a chaotic and joyous muddle around Abbie Boswell, who had just secured Alabama a 3-2 victory over Mississippi State with a goal in the 102nd minute of double-overtime.


Experienced Hailey Brohaugh silently makes big impact on Alabama

At Alabama’s senior night on Sunday, the Crimson Tide’s veteran players will be honored before they play the last few games of their collegiate careers, starting with Mississippi State. For Hailey Brohaugh, a fifth-year senior from Madison, Mississippi, senior night will mark one of the rare occasions on which she is recognized for her critical role on the team, and she is perfectly okay with it.


Alabama falls to Auburn 4-2

A thrilling second half comeback led by forward Abbie Boswell was not enough for Alabama to defeat Auburn in Tuesday night’s Iron Bowl of Soccer, as the Crimson Tide fell to the Tigers 4-2 in the latest installment of the storied in-state rivalry.
