Davis Shore and Wilson Furr bring lasting friendship to men's golf team

In the 2016 Wyndham Cup, one of the most prestigious events on the junior golf circuit, rising high school seniors Davis Shore and Wilson Furr were two down in their alternate-shot match with just five holes to play. On the 14th hole, a par 5, Shore’s tee shot found the fairway, Furr stuck an iron shot close to the hole, and Shore converted the eagle putt. Furr, easily the more excitable of the two, pumped his fist and riled up the more even-keeled Shore.

Women's golf embraces No. 1 ranking

Currently riding a streak of 12 consecutive years qualifying for the national championship, which includes a win in 2012, the team appears well on its way to a 13th.

Freshmen already making impact on men's golf

As the Alabama men’s golf team begins its first week of practice, the team’s returning players are finding that, compared to last year, spots in tournaments will be significantly harder to come by.  Having already returned its top five players from a year ago, the lineup became even more crowded in November when head coach Jay Seawell signed one of the nation’s top recruiting classes, consisting of a trio of talented freshmen: Davis Shore, Wilson Furr and Ben Fuller.

Kristen Gillman helps lead Alabama to SEC Championship

Alabama women’s golf head coach Mic Potter has touted freshman Kristen Gillman as one of the top recruits in the history of the program, so he knew it was only a matter of time before she would win her first college tournament. Gillman posted a tournament record, 208 (71-71-66), to win the Bryan National Collegiate held March 31 to Apr.
