The Alabama men’s basketball team's first road game will also be its first national broadcast of the season. The Crimson Tide will make its first ever appearance on the ESPN College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon when it plays at Dayton on Tuesday, Nov.17
The view from the student section in Coleman Coliseum will be different-and much closer-in the upcoming men's basketball season. UA Athletics announced via press release a plan to relocate the student section from the elevated corner of the arena to sections R through V, including sections R and S, located on the sideline directly across from the visitor bench. “One of the first things I noticed, and wanted to change, upon my hiring at The University of Alabama was to improve the fan experience at Coleman Coliseum, especially for our students,” coach Avery Johnson said in the release.
The NBA has already begun its award season, with Sixth Man of the Year and Coach of the Year being handed out. The premier award, the NBA’s Most Valuable Player, will likely come down to two players. Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry and Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden will likely be the top two finishers. However, it is Harden who should be the MVP.
Avery Johnson has seen the promised land for Alabama basketball. It's in Durham, North Carolina, he said, and in Indianapolis last week and at the very end of the college basketball season, when March Madness has given way to April.
