John Petty's big scoring night pushes Alabama past Auburn

Time after time, freshman guard John Petty, a five-star recruit in high school, ran off of a screen, caught the ball, and threw up a three-pointer no matter how many people were guarding him. Most of the night, it went in. Petty caught fire early and finished with 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting from beyond the arc to power Alabama to a 76-71 win over No. 17 Auburn, ending the Tigers’ 14-game winning streak.

Players adapt to new roles as Alabama continues to find the right lineup

It’s early January, and Alabama is still trying to find a lineup that best suites the team. The Crimson Tide have experienced numerous line up shakeups with players going down with injury, sickness or being suspended at the beginning of the season. Junior guard Dazon Ingram has been caught in the middle of those lineup shakeups. After missing the Crimson Tide’s blowout loss to Georgia, he was brought off the bench in a 14-point win against Georgia.

Alabama basketball unable to overcome sluggish second half against UCF

A completely out-of-sync Alabama had its worst offensive half of the season in second half of its 65-62 loss to UCF. The Crimson Tide only scored 26 points and blew a six-point halftime lead in the final 20 minutes of the game. UCF went on a 15-2 run over the span of seven minutes and 24 seconds to give the team a commanding lead. During that run, Alabama could not get anything going, and it showed by the way the team responded.
