Over 100 students gathered this Friday to hear four University students share their "revolutionary idea." Through speeches about fashion, swimming, media literacy, or private competition's relationship with charity, University students took to the Tide Talks stage to share their thoughts on how to better our world.

The University of Alabama tragically lost one of its students last month. Alli Brodie, an 18-year-old freshman, had been hit in the head with a soccer ball, which triggered a brain bleed. Following the loss, it was widely reported that her injury was made worse by an arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Though Brodie's AVM was later found to be a misdiagnosis, those familiar with AVM say it is an important condition for students to be aware of.
