SGA committee conducts survey of campus lighting By Josh Mixon Staff Reporter The SGA held an impromptu meeting Tuesday evening in support of a recently passed resolution that calls for a re-survey of poorly lit areas around campus.

The UA Office of Facilities has hired an outside lighting-consulting firm to conduct the re-survey of campus and find areas to install or improve lighting structures.

US Senate looks at appropriations for Tuscaloosa

Thanks to Sen. Richard Shelby, Tuscaloosa residents may soon see some well-needed renovations in the city and on the University of Alabama campus.

On July 9, the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee approved more than $4 million in earmarked funds for the University of Alabama for transportation projects, including CrimsonRide, as well as almost $7 million for renovations in Tuscaloosa's transportation system.
