Alabama senior forward Riley Norris will miss the rest of the season with a hip injury. It is the same injury that sidelined Norris for the first three games of the season.

Norris has only played in nine games this year, which is just 29 percent of the season. Players can be eligible for a medical redshirt if they play in less than 30 percent of their team’s schedule that season.

“We are extremely disappointed to lose Riley for the remainder of the season,” Alabama head coach Avery Johnson said in a press release. “He’s been fighting through this injury since July and we’ve had success with a conservative treatment and rehab program. However, he’s had increased pain as the season has gone on.”

This season, Norris has averaged 4.8 points and 2.4 rebounds. He’s been battling the injury for the better part of this year. He suffered the injury in the summer.

Norris is a senior, but could return next season if he opts to medically redshirt.
