What: Ladies Self-Defense Seminar

Who: This event is hosted by the Cobra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu mixed martial arts gym and open to the public. 

Where: Cobra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, located at 1110 15th St. 

When: Saturday, Oct. 7, noon-3 p.m. 

Kurt Taylor, head instructor for the gym, said that due to the publicity of the event, he may hold another session on Sunday since he can only effectively teach 50 people at a time.

The Cobra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu mixed martial arts gym is hosting a Ladies Self-Defense seminar for the public. 

Why: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was created to be an equalizer between a smaller person and a bigger opponent.

"That's what makes it such an effective tool in self-defense for young ladies," Taylor said.
