App Review: Joy Run app delivers food, more

Joy Run is a community-based app allowing students to pick up food for others who may be busy or without a mode of transportation.

Have you ever been in the middle of cooking dinner for your roommates and forgot the pasta sauce or had a craving for Cook Out, but it’s raining outside and you don't want to drive? Well, there's an app for that.

Joy Run has recently launched on campus and you can have virtually anything delivered to your door just by the touch of a few buttons on your smartphone. Joy Run is a community-based platform that targets college students who may not have a form of transportation to get around or is overwhelmed with midterms and finals.

With about 44 college campuses partaking in this platform, it has become one of the most popular food community applications. It is smart and simple. The Joy Run Growth Lead, Mike Dominski, said this is going to be the next biggest thing. Many students are used to using Crimson2Go in times of needing food, but they realize as they are checking out the prices are little higher than they would be for just getting up and driving to the restaurant themselves. Joy Run is an easy to use application where you set up a profile and get notifications when someone around town is going on a run to get a specific type of food. This is a win-win situation for college students because it is a great way to make money and give back to others.

Campus Lead, Dylan Waldrep said one night he delivered to a student and they never specified what sauce they wanted. So he added a few of each and some extra napkins to the bag, because they might have been caught up and did not realize they had not asked for ketchup.

“Going that extra mile means a lot to me so I know it would mean a lot for the students who can’t seem to find time to get away from work or school,” Waldrep said.

The advantage to Joy Run is that it is quick and easy and delivers to every area around campus and there are various restaurants offered in the application as well. With the growing number of users there are more and more positive comments towards the app and it is continuing to grow exponentially.
