Work on Jack Warner Parkway to begin soonBy Rebecca Rakowitz | 11/27/2016 10:45pm
Road work on Jack Warner Parkway could begin as early as this week, with outside lane closures between Marr’s Spring Road and Greensboro Avenue occurring as early as Monday, The Tuscaloosa News reported.
Construction crews are expected to work on improving the cross-section of the parkway for five to six months, adding and updating sidewalks and medians, and improving the sanitary sewer, water lines and storm water drainage systems.
“This project is meant to eliminate the ‘roller coaster’ effect that begins near the Greensboro Avenue intersection,” The Tuscaloosa News reported. “This is a result of the roadway being built over ravines and ditches where garbage was once haphazardly dumped.”
