Tuscaloosa Police Department investigating off-campus robbery

On Sunday, Nov. 13, University of Alabama students received an email regarding a report of an off-campus robbery. The Tuscaloosa Police Department is investing a report which occurred at 9:30 p.m. at the Dollar General Store at 200 Block of 14th Street. The suspect was reported to have robbed the store at gunpoint and was last seen heading west bound of the railroad tracks. 

TPD described the suspect as an black male, approximately 25-30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 200 pounds. 

The email also offered the following safety precautions for students and community members:

  • Be careful and mindful of any valuables you may carry on your person
  • Be mindful of your surroundings
  • If confronted, give the perpetrator what they ask for. Your safety is not worth jeopardizing.

If anyone has any information on the incident, they are encouraged to call University Police at 348-5454 or Crime Stoppers at 752-7867(STOP.)
