Rain, severe weather likely this weekBy Mike Finnegan | 11/27/2016 10:44pm
Incoming rain is expected to lessen Alabama’s ongoing drought conditions on Monday through Wednesday, but will bring severe weather.
According to The National Weather Service, Tuscaloosa will receive 2.26 inches inches, with the rain beginning to fall in the early evening on Monday.
The severe weather threat on Monday covers the southwestern region of Alabama, with a possibility of isolated storms in the area given the marginal risk status declared by the NWS. On Tuesday, the marginal risk status expands to cover the entire state, while the severe storm risk in southwestern Alabama increases to the slight severe weather threat condition.
The National Weather Service warns that the severe storms will involve heavy winds, hail and the possibility of tornadoes.
