American Pickers to come to AlabamaBy Rebecca Rakowitz | 11/27/2016 10:45pm
The History Channel’s hit television show ‘American Pickers’ will be filming in Alabama this winter, as they continue their nationwide search for interesting antiques.
The show follows Frank Fritz and Mike Wolfe as they travel across the country looking through barns, basements and garages in search of forgotten relics of the past that they restore for collectors. Not only do viewers get to see the antiques, but they also learn the history behind them and meet the interesting characters who own them.
“Every region has its own unique history, so Mike and Frank try to visit as many areas of the country as they can,” Supervising Producer Ben Epstein told OA Now. “The people of the South are so incredibly warm and have such a rich history; it’s always an interesting place to pick.”
As the show plans its trip to Alabama, the producers are looking for places to pick. “Mike and Frank have seen a lot of rusty gold over the years and are always looking to discover something they’ve never seen before,” Cineflix Productions, the show’s production company, wrote in a press release. “They are ready to find extraordinary items and hear fascinating tales about them. ‘American Pickers’ is looking for leads and would love to explore your hidden treasure.”
Producers are asking that anyone who knows of a large, private collection or accumulation of antiques that the Pickers can look through send their name, phone number, location and description of the collection with photos to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 855-OLD-RUST.
