Going into the women’s golf SEC Championship this weekend, Alabama looked to rebound from last year’s fifth-place performance.

The Crimson Tide has been in a championship drought since its 2013 performance that saw a finish of 14 strokes over Georgia, but coach Mic Potter is hopeful for this year’s team.

“I feel really good about our team,” he said. “I like the way we’re playing. We’re gelling at the right time. As there always is in the SEC, we’ll see depth and quality on all the teams. Florida is having a really good year, Arkansas is always good and Georgia is very good this year. The important thing for us is playing our best golf.”

Emma Talley will maintain her No. 1 spot, leading off in Birmingham at the Greystone Golf and Country Club’s Legacy Course. The golfers will tee off at 9:40 a.m. Friday in the third group that will include both Georgia and Florida athletes.

When the final putt is made, a tape-delay will air on the SEC Network starting Sunday at noon.
