After the first round the Crimson Tide was tied for fourth after shooting a 6-under par 282. Junior Robby Shelton, senior Tom Lovelady, and freshman Davis Riley led the the team shooting 2-under par 70’s.
When the second round concluded the team found itself in first place after scoring a 3-under par 285 bringing its day two total to 9-under par 567. The Crimson Tide was once again led by senior Tom Lovelady who again shot a 2-under par 70.
The third and final round saw the Crimson Tide shoot another 3-under par 285 for a three day total of 12-under par 852. Freshman Robby Shelton led the way on the final round with a 3-under 69.
“We got off to a great start today, but had a little hiccup in the middle of the round,” Alabama coach Jay Seawell said in a press release. “I am really proud of how we overcame that. Sometimes on the last day, when things aren’t going as you had hoped, it’s easy to have the negative momentum last too long. Our guys did a really good job of staying in the moment and finding a way to earn a victory, which I am very proud of.”
