The University of Alabama’s women’s golf team left New Orleans’ English Turn Golf & Country Club yesterday taking third in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Championship.

The Crimson Tide was led by seniors Emma Talley and Janie Jackson as they both finished in the top 10. Talley tied for third shooting 4-under 212 and Jackson tied for seventh finishing at 2-under 214.

Underclassmen Lakareber Abe, Cheyenne Knight, and Nicole Morales also had good showings in the tournament. Morales shot Alabama’s best round getting four birdies and going 3-under 69. This placed her right in front of her teammates finishing with 222 while Abe and Knight scored 223 and 224 respectively.

The No. 7 Crimson Tide team finished behind No. 11 Florida and No. 13 Oklahoma State and will be back in action next weekend in South Carolina. There the girls will compete in the 2016 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, March 4-6, at the Long Cove Club.
