No. 2 Alabama football (11-1, 7-1 SEC) takes on No. 18 Florida (10-2, 7-1) in the 2015 SEC Championship Game. Refresh this page for updates.

Fourth quarter

8:11 – Cyrus Jones and Demarcus Robinson of Florida get into a bit of an altercation, draw offsetting unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

8:50 – TOUCHDOWN – Alabama 29, Florida 7 – Jake Coker fires a strike to Richard Mullaney for the touchdown.

14:07 – Adam Griffith misses a 24-yard field goal. Florida takes over at the 20-yard line.

15:00 – Alabama is about ready to ice this one after a Marlon Humphrey interception and this touchdown. Henry has 135 yards on 32 carries.

Third quarter

2:49 – TOUCHDOWN – Alabama 22, Florida 7 – Derrick Henry with an incredible block followed by an incredible catch by a double-covered ArDarius Stewart.

3:04 – With 100 rushing yards, Derrick Henry is the first back to rush over the century mark twice in the SEC Championship. His season mark of 1897 breaks Herschel Walker’s record of 1891.

5:10 – Derrick Henry needs one more rushing yard to equal Herschel Walker’s single-season SEC mark.

7:36 – Alabama’s defense is great, Florida’s offense is truly horrific. 0 rushing yards for the Gators. Alabama gets the ball at its own 19 after 700 blocks in the back on a Cyrus Jones return.

8:04 – FIELD GOAL – Alabama 15, Florida 7 – A time-eating 65-yard drive by Alabama ends in a 30-yard field goal on fourth-and-one. Saban thought about going for it, decides going up by eight is preferable to the risk-reward of going for it.

HENRY WATCH: 24 carries, 77 yards.

15:00 – Cam Robinson is back for Alabama as the Crimson Tide takes the ball to start the half. Quick passes to Ardarius Stewart to open things up for the Crimson Tide.

HALFTIME NOTES:

Saban: “We’ve got to have more balance on offense in terms of what we’re doing so we can move the ball effectively. We gave up a couple of big plays on defense, but they haven’t really scored on teh defense. We’re going to have to get some turnovers. On defense–penalties and the special teams touchdown; on offense, we fumbled the ball. We’ve got to correct all that stuff.”

  • JK Scott’s 59-yard punt was his season high.
  • The team’s current total of 44 sacks is fourth-most in Alabama history
  • Henry’s 23 touchdowns this season ties the SEC record held by Tim Tebow and Tre Mason

SECOND QUARTER:

HALFTIME: Alabama 12, Florida 7

Henry: 19 carries, 65 yards, touchdown

Coker: 8-of-12, 101 yards

Ridley: 4 catches, 81 yards.

Here’s a video from Alabama softball coach Patrick Murphy of Alabama’s touchdown

And I don’t know what Treon Harris is doing here.

1:54 – While Alabama’s pass rush is having its way with Florida and Jarran Reed is pumping up the crowd after another deflected pass, here’s a video of that Ridley catch

2:26 – Calvin Ridley picks up where Amari Cooper left off and dunks on Vernon Hargreaves. 4 catches for 81 yards. Henry carries two yards for the TOUCHDOWN. Alabama 12, Florida 7

HENRY WATCH: 7 carries, 54 yards. 18 straight games with a rushing touchdown

5:30 –

5:45 – FIELD GOAL GOOD – Florida 7, Alabama 5 – Adam Griffith makes a 28-yard field goal after the Alabama drive stalls in the red zone. 14 plays, 64 yards, 6:08 on the drive. Griffith has missed one attempt since October 17th.

7:40 – HENRY WATCH: 15 carries, 51 yards.

COKER WATCH: 27 yards, not counting sacks. Finally actually keeping the ball on read-option.

11:52 – TOUCHDOWN Florida 7, Alabama 2 – Florida’s 85-yard punt return for a touchdown is the longest in SEC Championship Game history.

13:26 – A’Shawn Robinson injured during Florida’s drive, but Tim Williams introduces himself by firing off the ball like a cannon at left end, unblocked by the right tackle for the third-down sack. Alabama’s depth wins again.

15:00 begins with a HENRY WATCH correction – 7 carries, 24 yards. And a fumble by the big man. Well now you just made him mad, Gators.

FIRST QUARTER:

END 1st: Alabama 2, Florida 0

Derrick Henry: 6 carries, 18 yards.

Jake Coker: 5-6, 35 yards

Kieth Holcombe with the punt block for the safety.

0:35 – is that bad

3:15 – Florida’s vaunted defense is putting up a fight, particularly against the Heisman hopeful Henry, but JK Scott loves the Georgia Dome. 53-yard punt to the 2-yard line.

Here’s a video of the earlier blocked punt.

4:33 – Florida successful over the middle when Marlon Humphrey and Reuben Foster blow a couple of coverages, but the drive ends in a blocked field goal, recovered by Cyrus Jones. Florida’s special teams having a bit of a nightmare.

HENRY WATCH: 5 carries, 12 yards. Not a great drive for him or the Crimson Tide.

8:15 – Immediately followed by a third-down sack

9:05 – SAFETY Alabama first on the board with a Keith Holcombe punt block for a safety. First safety since 2003 in the SEC Championship Game.

HENRY WATCH: 10:13 – 4 carries, 14 yards. 3.5 ypc.

10:13 – Defensive end went completely unblocked. Fortunate for Alabama that Coker got back on the fumble. Looked like Cam Robinson should have picked him up.

12:05 – Calvin Ridley gets the best of Hargreaves on their first matchup. That’ll be one to watch. Hargreaves had a nightmare with Cooper last year, who had over 200 yards and 3 TDs.

14:42 – Quick three and out after great linebacker play from Alabama. Kenyan Drake is back in the game on Alabama’s first play from scrimmage and still fast, running for a first down. Interested to see how much we’ll get from him.

KICKOFF: Florida wins the toss and will receive.
